Algodon Wine Estates Mendoza, Argentina:
Located in the foothills of the Sierra Pintada Mountains, our San Rafael, Mendoza based wine and golf estate encompasses over 2,000 acres of picturesque terrain. Algodon Wine Estates believes that it is only possible to produce superior wine when you have a superior grape. Though our newer vines are no less than a decade old, our most mature vines were planted in 1946 and produce grapes of incredible quality. The estate has over 175 acres of vineyards, both old and new. Yet even amongst these, only specially selected vines can provide our winery with the best quality grapes for our annual harvest.
Our vineyard harvest begins in the last week of February and ends around the last week of April, depending on the varietal and its desired maturity. All of our grapes are harvested by hand, and the resultant wine is left to mature in French and American Oak barrels. All crops within the estate are organic and biodynamic, and demonstrate our vision of quality and purity intended for our vintages. But it is more than just acquiring the best raw materials, as our expert winemakers continue to prove as we faithfully produce wines in accordance with our own impeccable high standards and tastes.
We invite visitors to the estate to take a guided tour of our winery with our sommelier, and learn firsthand about our wine elaboration process, taste our vintages, and stroll through our vineyards.
